Close to Cawdor village, Lochanshelloch Cottage is surrounded by woodlands, rare wildlife and winding paths. Fill the gloriously long Scottish summer days seeking thrills on the Tomintoul Mountain Bike Trail, a 24 mile ramble along the Dava Way, dolphin spotting at Chanonry Point and more. Once the children are in bed, watch the sunset slowly set with a glass of wine and selection of organic cheese from Connage Dairy.

On the banks of River Findhorn in the Drynachan valley, Fisherman’s Cottage looks like something you’d only expect to see in a watercolour painting. With the sun glistening on the river, it’s easy to imagine a fisherman passing his time here on a long summer’s day. Try birdwatching, forage for berries, or visit Loch Ness, then indulge in a game supper – we can provide grouse, partridge, roe deer and more.

With the Highlands on your doorstep, you can explore native woodlands by bike, visit for the annual Pipe Band Championships, or pick elderberries for cordial. Or you could just make the most of the peace and quiet, sitting by the restored Victorian fireplace with a good book, a cup of tea and some chunks of Scottish tablet.
