Stay in Comfort
Originally built as a gardener’s cottage in Victorian times, the house sits deep in the Drynachan Valley with open views up and down the River Findhorn. Restored fireplaces, panelled walls and stone slab flooring give it character and warmth, while the setting feels remote and deeply rural. Despite this sense of seclusion, Cawdor Village lies just nine miles away, offering an easy balance between escape and convenience.

Salmon Water On The Doorstep
Set beside seven miles of renowned fly fishing on the River Findhorn in the quiet Drynachan Valley on Cawdor Estate. From April to September, three distinct beats offer spring-run salmon early in the season and summer grilse later on — ideal for returning anglers and those settling in for a week on the river.

River Days & The Wild Larder
Beyond fishing, the river shapes daily life here. Picnics by the bank, paddles in calmer pools and watching birdlife are part of the rhythm. The surrounding estate offers a sense of the wild larder too - a landscape that lends itself to foraging, seasonal cooking and evenings centred around simple, game-led suppers.

Estate Life & Village Days
Well placed for exploring the Cawdor Estate and nearby village life. Ancient woodland, pine forest and open moorland surround the house, while Cawdor Castle and its gardens are close by. Days can include browsing antiques at MacMuddles, lunch at Cawdor Deli or supper at Cawdor Tavern.

Fresh Air & Long Days Out
The cottage also suits friends gathering for a long weekend. Walks and rides start from the door, following the river or winding into woodland, with days spent cycling quiet lanes, hiking estate paths or lingering by the water. Evenings are for fireside suppers, board games and simple time together.

Coast, Beaches & Open Horizons
When the coast calls, wide beaches and open water are within easy reach. Days might be spent on the sands at Nairn Beach or Findhorn Bay, walking sections of the Moray Coastal Trail, or dolphin spotting at Chanonry Point. Seafood lunches and coastal villages add an easy contrast to river days inland.

Golf On The Estate & Nearby
Golf is close at hand, with Cawdor Castle Golf Course just minutes away - a traditional 9-hole course set within the castle grounds, ideal for a relaxed round during your stay. For those looking to build a wider golfing break, several of the Highlands’ most respected courses are within easy reach, including Castle Stuart Golf Links and Nairn Golf Club, both offering world-class links golf beside the Moray Firth

Your Home from Home
After big days out, return to calm interiors, quality materials and thoughtful details that make the house feel like a proper home - comfortable, welcoming and quietly luxurious.
