The Perfect Stay
RESAURIE

A Cairngorms Base
Resaurie sits within easy reach of the wider Cairngorms National Park, making it a strong base for exploring the landscape in every season. Woodland walks around lochs, higher hill routes and winter mountain days are all close at hand, particularly around Aviemore and the surrounding forests and hills.

Family Activities
Children will enjoy days out at Landmark Forest Adventure Park and the Strathspey Steam Railway, along with the many outdoor attractions around Aviemore, walks and café stops at the base of Cairngorm Mountain, and visits to the Highland Wildlife Park to see the Scottish wildcat, Amur tigers and the polar bear cub.

Four-Season Adventures
From skiing and snow sports in winter to hiking, cycling and mountain biking through the warmer months, the area offers a wide range of outdoor pursuits without feeling overdeveloped. Days might include time at Loch Morlich, watersports and forest trails, or visits to nearby outdoor centres and wildlife experiences around Aviemore and Rothiemurchus.

Lochs, Rivers & Wild Swims
Lochs and rivers shape the landscape here. Brave a cold-water swim at Lochindorb, enjoy picnics by quiet riverbanks, or spend time fishing for salmon and trout on the River Nairn or River Findhorn. Wildlife sightings are part of daily life, from deer and hares to birds of prey overhead.

A Place to Retreat
Resaurie offers privacy and stillness, with a sense of being properly removed from the pace of everyday life. Surrounded by open ground and wide skies, the house encourages slower days, quiet mornings and unhurried evenings, shaped as much by the setting as by the comfort of the spaces within.

History, Whisky & Culture
Beyond the hills, there’s a rich cultural layer to explore. Historic sites such as Culloden Battlefield sit within easy driving distance, as do numerous distilleries across Speyside and the Highlands, offering the chance to sample a well-earned dram after a day outdoors.

A Quiet Return Home
Resaurie strikes a rare balance between seclusion and access. While the house feels tucked away and private, Carrbridge, Grantown-on-Spey and Aviemore are all within easy reach for supplies, supper or a change of scene — allowing you to enjoy the remoteness without ever feeling cut off.

Dog Friendly
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at Cawdor Cottages. Please ensure your pet is added to the reservation at the time of booking.
